Fates
Myth
The Fates are deities that embody the concept of destiny. In ancient
times it was believed that every human being had his own destination or Moira. These
had as a function to assign to each his own luck and curse, regulating the life
of any mortal.
Fates Myth
It is said that the Fates are daughters of Zeus and Themis. Three
sisters: Clotho (spinning wheel), who was the youngest and they spun. Lachesis
(pen), weaving fate. And Atropos (balance), the largest and which cut the
threads. They 3 had to ensure that the fate of each is fulfilled, including
that of the gods. They must attend the birth of each person, spin and predict
its fate.
These deities were associated in antiquity to the birth, as was said at
that time, the Fates decided everything would live during his lifetime and when
they were going to die. Then he evolved at 3 Fates mentioned and that life was
determined by thread: White or gold for moments in the life of happiness, and
black wool moments of pain.
Description: It is commonly represented as hieratic three women,
stern-looking and robed: Cloto, carrying a distaff; Lachesis, with a stick, a
pen or a world globe; and Atropos, with scissors or a scale.
iban a morir.
balanza.
